The website is rather plain and boring. There is a lot of unnecessary information about the owner itself. I must admit that site is complicated and it is not comfortable to use it.

The owner and the only editor is Beth Hill. She is an editor and a fiction writer (contemporary romance and medieval adventure).  She is the only one person who will read and edit your paper. Isn’t it strange? I do not understand how one person could cope with such an amount of papers!

However, this service guarantees to provide you with first-class editing services. A Novel Edit is dedicated to making your fiction manuscript publication or submission ready.

The Editor offers full edit, which includes corrections for spelling, grammar, and punctuation as well as style suggestions.  In addition, Beth offers ideas for technical, structure, and story issues.

Price Policy

The pricing list is quite complicated. The pricing menu is overwhelmed with numerous articles describing their advantages and benefits. I think they would better create online price calculator and it will be more helpful for clients! As for the prices, rates are from 2 to 4 cents per word (Based on level of edit required).

Beth also offers you to edit the first 30 pages of your manuscript. I wonder why only 30 pages? She insists that the very first pages are more important and she will edit it for $120.00 (Up to 7500 words).

Order Details

The order form is very inconvenient and short.  To make an order you need to contact Beth via email, and after getting an instant quote the process will be started. Soon, I was informed that editing my manuscript would cost $203, and that already included a discount. Honestly, I did not understand how they counted the price for editing and I expected it to be rather cheaper. I was promised to get the edited manuscript within 1 month! This deadline was so long, what if I needed the paper earlier?

Quality of editing and support

There is no online chat on the site, as on Editing Writing Services org, for example. There’s only a contact form letting you email them – and they promise to get back immediately. However, I had to wait 3 days to receive a response.  Unfortunately, they do not provide phone number. So, after placing an order and making payment you will have nothing to do but to wait for the edited paper.

Conclusion

I received my manuscript even earlier, within 3 weeks.  Unfortunately, they did not make tracked version to see how many mistakes I made. She made only minor changes, edited grammar and punctuation. I did not receive any style suggestions as it was promised. Frankly speaking, I was not quite satisfied. The price is too high just for grammar corrections.

I dealt with this Service before and never had situations like this. So, I don’t think I’ll come back to these services.
